Frank Holmes: Bullish on Airlines and Gold
Frank Holmes, CEO and chief investment officer of U.S. Global Investors, joined Benzinga’s PreMarket Prep morning show in early February to discuss two areas of his expertise: airlines and gold. Frank remains bullish on both industries, and notes that airlines have seen better performance lately, despite their spotty track record in the past, for a number of reasons.
He notes Warren Buffett’s surprising investment in airlines during 2016, following years of shunning the industry, and also explains that airline company management is doing a better job of focusing on regions with strong consumer growth. Citing the broad scope of the industry’s expansion, which is the focus of the U.S. Global Jets ETF (JETS), Frank says “It’s pretty robust, overall global growth in revenue in the industry.” Check out the full discussion for Frank’s thoughts on gold as well.
