After a lackluster 2018 for the price of gold, experts and industry leaders are weighing in on their predictions for the yellow metal in the New Year. Frank Holmes, CEO and chief investment officer of U.S. Global Investors, along with other prominent fund managers, spoke with Investing News Network to share their thoughts. On why gold has suffered losses this year, Frank said that “a stronger U.S. dollar and higher real rates were serious headwinds,” but despite those challenges he believes “gold actually performed exceptionally well.”
